Print 09 is well underway in Chicago and the massive first day attendances combined with a strong line up of exhibitors proves that the Printing Industry is thriving despite the downturn in the global economy.

This year's show aptly themed "myPRINT" is like none other with an expanded focus on new market segments and the latest technological developments from leading industry suppliers. Over 650 companies are exhibiting their products and services in Chicago, September 11-16, 2009.

Huge Attendance at Print 09This year show organizers have launched  PackPrint, a trade show within-a-trade-show covering all aspects of package  printing, will make its global debut this fall at PRINT 09, the year’s largest and most  comprehensive global graphic communications exhibition and conference. Boasting 49,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, PackPrint offers products, services and information to help both veteran package  printers and attendees seeking to enter the package printing market.

“Package printing is one of the fastest growing segments of graphic communications, so it only makes sense for PRINT 09 to feature the latest in package printing technologies and  demonstrate for graphic communications professionals the business opportunities that exist in this area,” explained Ralph Nappi, President of the Graphic Arts Show Company. “By  showcasing this diverse segment into one specialty trade show, we help attendees target their  trade show strategy, maximize their time on the show floor and allow them ‘one-badge’ access to not just one, but two world-class events.”

Strong Attendance

The attendance at the show is proving to exceed all expectations by organizers. Exhibitors are very pleased at this early stage of the show, reporting strong interest in their products and services. One sector which is receiving a great deal of interest is Print Software, it seems that Print management software is becoming increasingly important to companies wishing to streamline their operations to gain a competitive edge.

Positive Outlook

Print Listings has spoken to many attendees and exhibitors attending in the first days of the show and there is a resounding air of confidence in business prospects within the industry. Many attendees expressed interest in new machinery, favouring modernisation over the purchase of second hand equipment. One attendee we spoke to said "While growth has not been significant over the past year, it is time for us to become more competitive, thus our focus is on new equipment which offers us savings in labour and increases in productivity"

Print 09, or as it has been labelled this year MyPrint, offers an amazing array of exhibits and every day will see new announcements from major players in the industry. In depth news about individual exhibitors will be featured on Print Listings over coming days.
